Walnut Butterhorns
Ingredients
- Flour - 3 cups
- Butter - 1 lb.
- Ricotta Cheese - 1 lb.
- Sugar - 2 cups
- Cinnamon - 2 tsp.
- Walnuts - 1 lb., finely chopped
- Egg Yolk - 1, well beaten
- Cinnamon - 3/4 tsp.
- Walnuts - chopped
Instructions
Cream butter, combine with ricotta cheese and cream well. Add flour and mix to dough. Chill dough. In separate bowl mix sugar, cinnamon and walnuts together. Separate dough into 2 balls, then roll out into small squares, place teaspoon of sugar mixture into center, roll up like shape of crescent, from one corner to opposite corner. Brush small amound of well beaten egg yolk on top of crescent horn. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
