Linzer Tarts
Ingredients
- Flour - 2-3/4 cup
- Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Butter - 2 sticks, softened
- Cream Cheese - 3 oz., softened
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Egg - 1
Instructions
Cream softened butter and cream cheese together; add sugar and mix well. Mix together, in separate bowl, flour and baking powder. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, until well blended. Form a ball and chill two hours or overnight. Roll out dough and cut into small rounds; 1/2 the rounds with small holes in center and 1/2 the rounds without holes. May use doughnut cutter or round cookie cutters. Bake at 350° for approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Watch carefully because they must not be over baked. Spread seedless raspberry jam or preserves on rounds without holes. Place round with hole on top of jam covered bottom round. Press together lightly. Dust top of cookie with confectionery sugar.
