Sweet and Sour Pot Roast
Ingredients
- Rump Roast - 4 lb.
- Shortening - 3 Tbs.
- Large Onion - 2, sliced
- Prunes - 1/2 lb. uncooked
- Cloves - 4
- Salt
- Black Pepper
- Water - 1 cup
- Cider - 1 cup
Instructions
Brown meat on all sides in shortening. Add onions, prunes, cloves, salt, pepper, water and cider. Reduce heat, cover and simmer slowly until tender about 3 to 4 hours. Add more water from time to time only if necessary. Drop in 1 beef bouillon cube and stir. Serve with butter noodles.
