Meat Loaf
Ingredients
- Ground Beef - 1 lb.
- Ground Turkey - 2 lb.
- Italian Bread - 1 loaf (center of bread only)
- Eggs - 4
- Parmesan Cheese - 1 handful, grated
- Dried Parsley - 1 tsp.
- Garlic - 3 cloves, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black Pepper - to taste
- Small Onion - 2, chopped
- Tomato Sauce - 15-1/2 oz. can
- Water - 1/4 can
- Peas - 1 can, mostly drained
Instructions
Knead together ground beef and ground turkey until well blended. In separate bowl, add center section of Italian bread, 4 eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, chopped garlic, salt and pepper. Mix until well blended with fork, then gradually add chopped meat. Make into loaf, or two small size loaves, place in baking pan. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes; then lower to 350° and add to baking pan 2 small chopped onions, tomato sauce, 1/4 can water-rinse tomato sauce can with water, salt and pepper. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes longer, baste occasionally. Then add 1 can of peas, mostly drained, around meat loaf, or 1 box frozen peas. Bake another 15 minutes.
