Tempura Batter
Ingredients
- Flour - 3/4 cup, sifted
- Argo Cornstarch - 1/4 cup
- Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp.
- Water - 1 cup
- Egg - 1, beaten
Instructions
Sift together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and baking soda. Stir in 1 cup of water, then add egg and beat with electric mixer until smooth and frothy. Use this to coat fish, chicken, vegetables, onion rings, dusting with flour first. For mozzarella fingers, coat with tempura batter first, then dip in bread crumbs and freeze. Deep fry frozen mozzarella fingers.
