Meat Pie
Ingredients
- Ground Sirloin - 2-1/2 lbs.
- Mozzarella Cheese - 1 pkg. sliced
- Ricotta - 1 pint
- Parmesan Cheese - 1/4 cup
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Tomato Sauce - 1/2 small jar
- Pillsbury Ready Made Pie Crust - 2
- Garlic - to taste
- Oregano - to taste
- Black Pepper - to taste
- Parsley - to taste
- Small Onion - 1 chopped
Instructions
In bowl mix ricotta, egg and Parmesan cheese together. In food processor add garlic, oregano, pepper, parsley and onion, blend. In frying pan brown ground sirloin, drain, then add blended seasonings to pan, stir in tomato sauce. Saute for a minute. Flour bottom of glass Pyrex pie plate, place one pie crust into pie plate, then add meat mixture, and spread evenly in pie plate. Place slices of mozzarella over meat, to cover meat, then add ricotta mixture over mozzarella. Place second pie crust over mixture and be sure top crust overlaps bottom crust, crimp crusts together. Make long and short slits on top crust like a star shape. Bake at 400° until crust browns, about 30 minutes.
