Creamed Chicken and Rice
Ingredients
- Butter - 6 Tbs
- Flour - 6 Tbs
- Milk - 3 c
- Salt - To taste
- Pepper - To taste
- Canned Peas - 14 oz. can
- Canned Mushrooms - 10 oz can, drained
- Onion - 1/2 chopped
- Boneless Chicken Breast - 5 breasts shredded
- White Cooked Rice
Instructions
In large pot, melt 5 tablespoons of butter, then gradually add the 6 tablespoons of flour, stirring constantly until blended. Stir in gradually the milk. Add the salt and pepper. Keep stirring until thickened. Set aside. In a separate pot, melt the other (1) tablespoon of butter and add onions. Saute until softened. Combine peas and mushrooms with softened onions, stir; add shredded cooked chicken, stir. Add chicken mixture to cream sauce and stir and heat until well blended. Serve over white cooked rice.
