Candy Canes Cookies
Ingredients
- Butter - 1 cup
- Confectionery Sugar - 1 cup
- Egg - 1
- Almond Extract - 1-1/2 tsp.
- Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp.
- Flour - 2-1/2 cups
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Red Food Coloring - 1/2 tsp.
Instructions
Blend together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla extract until mixed well. In separate bowl mix together flour, salt; add to butter mixture and mix until well blended. Separate dough into two sections. In one dough section add 1/2 teaspoon of red food coloring. Mix until well blended with red color. Leave the other half of dough section white in color. Take a small amount of dough and roll a cigarette size log, one white and one red log. Twist the two logs together and roll slightly together. Form a candy cane shape and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for approximately 9 minutes.
