Fettuccine Alfredo
Ingredients
- Butter - 1/4 lb.
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Parmesan Cheese - 1/4 cup grated
- Light Cream - 1 pint, hot
- Salt - 1/2 tsp.
- Black Pepper - 1/4 tsp.
- Peas - 1/2 cup, cooked
- Prosciutto - 3 oz., sliced thin and diced
- Egg Noodles - 12 oz. package
Instructions
Melt butter in sauce pan over low heat, gradually add and stir in flour and grated Parmesan cheese until smoothly blended, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in hot cream until mixture is smooth and thick. Add salt and pepper. In separate fry pan, saute peas and prosciutto for about 5 minutes. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain. Toss with cream mixture. Place in serving dish and then spoon peas and prosciutto on top of egg noodle mixture. Serves 4.
This recipe was delicious! We added chicken and even baby Giovanni loved it. 4 stars instead of 5, only because the sauce came out way too think, almost like play-doh. Not sure why but we added a couple extra cups of milk to loosen it and worked out fine.
